Softspace v2022

Softspace v2022 marked a milestone for the project: it was the first version to launch on Meta’s official Quest Store. This release synthesized years of experimentation—from the early VR prototypes through the five AR prototypes—into a coherent product. The app introduced a unified UI model that reconciled two distinct approaches to spatial organization: an ordinal stacks-based layout for structured thinking, and a force-directed galaxy view that let ideas cluster by semantic affinity. Hand tracking replaced controllers as the primary input, and Dropbox integration finally allowed Softspace to slot into existing workflows. For the first time, work created in the headset could travel back out as markdown and images.
