Spaceframe
One year and over 100k downloads after the launch of Softspace to the Quest Store, we had learned a lot about how people do and do not want to use spatial computing for general-purpose computing. We wanted to incoroporate these lessons into the product. After so many years of using the Softspace moniker, the name was also starting to show its age, with a whiff of indecision from a bygone era.
So in November 2024, Softspace was relaunched as Spaceframe. Its sturdier and more focused name reflects a more purposeful set of features and use cases.
The ergonomic Console view mode was added, which positions workspace items radially around the user for improved comfort. A new Note item type was introduced, allowing for a desktop-class Markdown editing experience. And a flexible suite of AI features were implemented which harness Spaceframe’s highly visual interface to give users fine control over the context that the embedded AI sees.
Spaceframe remains live on the Quest Store, and attracts thousands of new users each month.
